Purser and Saya Tun Aung (1922) claims that Pwo Karen has nine parts of speech including adjectives and verbs. In this paper we will discuss whether the part of speech ‘adjective’ is necessary in describing the Pwo Karen morphosyntax, and conclude that the category ‘adjective’ is unnecessary, at least from the perspective of descriptive study of this language.
