The Efficacy of LMS in Autonomous Learning and Interaction among the Students

This paper reports that the use of Learning Management System(LMS) in preparatory
educational program for international pre-undergraduate students from the perspective of
efficacy in autonomous learning and interactions among the students. The result from the use of
LMS, in terms of autonomous learning, this paper states that LMS is an effective approach for the
students. Likewise, in the context of the student evaluation, the use of LMS for their learning can
provide good opportunity for autonomous study. In addition, LMS could also be supportive
environment for encouraging mutual exchange in the sight of interactions among the students;
however, the use of LMS brings to light the issues involved in it. While it may be true that LMS
promotes interaction among the students, since encouraging too much interaction through LMS
may deteriorate the students’ motivation for mutual exchange, teachers should be careful to the
extent of using LMS intended to interaction among the students.
