During this time, the usage of “ノサ” was especially prevalent. \nIn late Edo-period, the sentence-ending particle “サ” was predominantly used in sentences connected to nouns, and when connecting it to verb and adjective the quasi-nominative particle “ノ” was necessary. \n“ノサ,” inherited the communicative function of the sentence-ending particle “サ.” Therefore, it is considered to have a usage distinct from that of “ノダ,” which, exclusively in quasi-nominative particle constructions, primarily conveyed circumstances related to “事情” . \nSubsequently, the sentence-ending particle “サ” underwent a functional shift, becoming less common in polite and feminine conversations. As a result, it is thought that the usage of “ノヨ” and “ノ” increased.
