We compared these with example sentences and their translations from the “Japanese Example Sentence Bank (Jreibun)”. Our analysis revealed that the Japanese example sentences generated by GPT-3.5 currently do not meet various requirements. While GPT-4.0 generally adheres to specified conditions, modifications such as contextual supplementation are necessary for educational purposes. Although the English translations by GPT-4.0 seem to have improved accuracy compared to GPT-3.5, both versions still exhibit word-level mistranslations and occasional misunderstandings at the sentence level.
