| 内容記述 | ５つの初対面会話のケーススタディーとして、日本語非母語話者が母語話者と会話する際に見られる疑問表現を用いた話題転換の仕方、非母語話者の会話全体に対する理解度の違いと、会話全体に対する非母語話者自身及び他社が持つ印象の違いについて分析した。その結果、会話相手についての情報を積極的に質問する非母語話者の方が、自分の情報について質問されて答えているだけという非母語話者よりも、会話を理解してついていくのが困難のようであり、話題を唐突に転換してしまうことがあるということが分かった。しかし、前者の非母語話者の方が相手への関心、気配りという点でいい印象を持たれやすいということも分かった。日本語教育への応用として、「初対面の会話での語彙の強化と練習」、「『質問―応答型』から『相互話題導入型』『中間型』への移行」、「聞き返しの練習」の３点を提案する。 | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | This study is an analysis of questions used in topic openings, non-native participants' comprehension levels, and impressions that the interlocutors and the third-party persons had about non-native conversations. I demonstrate that the non-native participants who actively asked questions about the interlocutors' information in topic openings had more difficulty in understanding the conversation and tended to shift topics more suddenly than the ones who passively answered the questions that the interlocutors asked about their own information. Nevertheless, I also found that the former participants tended to warrant more favorable impressions from the interlocutors and the third-party persons because they succeeded in expressing their interests in and considerations for the interlocutors by using questions. I suggest the following pedagogical applications for teaching Japanese as a second language: 1) strengthening vocabulary in conversation practice, 2) shifting conversation pattern practice from "Question and Answer Pattern" to "Two-way topic initiation Pattern", and 3) practicing using "requests for clarification" strategy. |
